If you tried to subscribe, upgrade, or pay for a marketplace order and the payment didn't complete, work through this list. AgroYield uses Monnify (Moniepoint's payment gateway) to process all payments — card, bank transfer, and USSD.
You see "Payment failed" right after submitting
Most common causes:
- Insufficient funds. Your card or account didn't have the available balance. Try again with a different card or top up.
- Card not enabled for online payments. Monnify processes in NGN but your card-issuing bank sometimes blocks online/international transactions by default. Call your bank and ask them to enable online transactions, then retry.
- 3D Secure / OTP not received. Some banks require an OTP that doesn't always arrive instantly. Wait 60 seconds and retry — the previous attempt is auto-cancelled.
- Bank transfer not matched. If you chose pay-with-transfer, you need to send the exact amount to the unique account number Monnify generated. A wrong amount or a transfer to a different account will not be auto-matched.
Payment shows as "Pending" for more than five minutes
Monnify usually settles card payments within seconds and bank transfers within a minute. If your transaction shows pending after five minutes:
- Check your bank/card statement — has the money actually left your account?
- If yes, the webhook from Monnify to AgroYield may have been delayed. Refresh the page, the status should update within 15 minutes.
- If still not updated after 30 minutes, contact us with your Monnify payment reference number (visible on the receipt email Monnify sent you, and on the AgroYield order/subscription detail page).
Money debited but subscription/order didn't activate
This is the rarest case. The payment succeeded with Monnify but the webhook delivery to AgroYield failed.
Fix: email support@agroyield.africa with:
- Your registered email on AgroYield
- The Monnify payment reference from your receipt
- A screenshot of the bank/card debit if you have it
- The order ID (for marketplace) or your subscription tier (for subscriptions)
We can manually verify with Monnify and activate your subscription / order. We aim for under 12 hours on this kind of recovery during weekdays.
How to check if your subscription is actually active
Open Account → Subscription. The page shows:
- Your current tier (Free, Pro, Growth, Institutional)
- The renewal date
- Payment history with Monnify reference numbers
If the page says you're on Free but you just paid, that's the symptom — open a support ticket from there with one click.
How to check if your marketplace order went through
Open Marketplace → Orders. The page shows the order status:
- Pending payment — checkout was started but payment didn't complete; safe to retry
- Paid — awaiting shipment — payment succeeded; the seller is preparing your order
- Shipped — awaiting confirmation — seller marked it shipped; you'll confirm delivery once it arrives
If the order isn't in the list at all, the payment never completed — start a fresh checkout from the listing page.
