This article covers the most common reason new collaborators can't see a business they were invited to: the invite email and the AgroYield account email don't match.
The shape of the problem
Your boss owns AGCOMS International. They open AgroYield, go to People, and add you as a Collaborator using your corporate address — say florence.ubah@agcomsinternational.com. They click Send.
But you joined AgroYield months ago under your personal Gmail (ubah.florence14@gmail.com). You don't have an AgroYield account on the corporate address — and creating one just to accept the invite would mean juggling two accounts.
Before 29 May 2026 the invite link refused to open from your personal-email account. The page said "this invite was sent to florence.ubah@agcomsinternational.com — please log in with the correct account." The only way to accept was to create a second account under the corporate address, which nobody wanted to do.
What changed
The accept-invite flow now lets you claim the invite from whichever AgroYield account you happen to be logged in with. The invite link itself is the security check — it's a long random token only your inviter knows. Possession of the link is enough to prove you're the intended recipient.
When you accept from an account whose email differs from the invite email, the business owner sees a notification that says:
Florence Ubah (ubah.florence14@gmail.com) joined AGCOMS International as an Accountant. Invite was sent to florence.ubah@agcomsinternational.com — they accepted from their personal account.
That gives the owner full visibility — they can verify it was you and not someone else who got the link, and if anything looks wrong they can revoke the membership from /business/team.
How to use it
- Find the invite email in your inbox (subject line: "You've been invited to join …")
- Open the link from the account you ALREADY have — don't create a new account
- The page accepts the invite immediately and sends you to the Business dashboard
- The business you were invited to now shows up in your business switcher (top-left of the dashboard)
If you have multiple AgroYield accounts, log in with whichever one you actually use — the invite will bind to that account.
What the business owner sees
After you accept, the owner gets a bell notification + an entry on /business/team showing:
- Your AgroYield name (from your profile)
- The email on your AgroYield account
- The original invite email (for audit / verification)
- The date you accepted
If the wrong person clicked the link by accident, the owner can remove them from the Team page — your access ends immediately.
Edge cases
The invite was already accepted. Once an invite is claimed it can't be re-used. If you need access again (e.g. you accidentally accepted on the wrong account), ask the owner to invite you afresh.
The invite was revoked. The owner can revoke a pending or accepted invite at any time. A revoked link returns "This invitation has been revoked by the business owner."
You're not logged in. The page will ask you to log in or create an account first, then come back to the same link. If you already have an account, log in — don't create a new one just for this invite.
You see the business but can't open it. Refresh the page once, or open the business switcher (top-left) and pick the business explicitly. The cookie that remembers which business you're viewing can lag for a few seconds after a fresh invite is accepted.
If something looks off
If you accepted an invite and still don't see the business after a refresh, or if you see a business you shouldn't have access to, write to support@agroyield.africa with:
- Your AgroYield email
- The business name you expected to see (or shouldn't be seeing)
- The invite email you received
Support can verify the bind and fix it within the same business day.
